In 2026 the closure falls on Friday, July 3, 2026. The bond market closes for Independence Day. When July 4 falls on a Saturday the closure is observed the Friday before; when it falls on a Sunday, the Monday after. SIFMA also recommends a 2:00 PM ET early close on the trading day before the observed holiday.
